I have 1000s of older teaching files that I've made over the years.  Some going back to Finale 2.0 back in 1990s.  I have been finding myself having to edit font attributes over and over and over, ad nauseum.  So I've turned my attention to FinaleScript.

I have successfully created several scripts that vastly improve this tedious workflow.  But I'm stuck on one attribute:  font size.

What is the correct syntax for changing the font size via FS.  I cannot find any reference in the online ref.

Thanks.

Can I ask a Finalescript question of you that I have posted that didn't receive any responses? I was working on a script that unchecks the "auto-number style" in the score manager - I can open the score manager and uncheck the box of the instrument selected when the window is open, but I have not been able to correctly program a line that can choose which instrument to uncheck. "Choose" "list" and "item" don't seem to work. Add o that each instrument has the same name, just on different staves. Let me know if you have input! Thank you.

I haven't scripted in this dialog yet, but my suggestion would be to make sure your parameter for the name of the checkbox is exact and in "".  Ala  uncheck "Auto-Number Style"

There are also parameters that guide the script commands when there are similar buttons or checkboxes in a single dialog, like near "Abbr. Name…"  But that doesn't seems to be an issue in that dialog.

I learned quite a bit from this page:  http://usermanuals.finalemusic.com/Finale2014Win/Content/Finale/Using_FinaleScript.htm

Hi Thomas!

Thanks for checking this out. Hi I know that page a bit - I've been studying it to see the grammar of what is a primitively programming language, etc. Just to be clear - unchecking the "auto-number style" box is NOT essentially the issue at hand. Sorry if that wasn't clear. I use "uncheck" for that and put "auto-number style" in quotes and it works for the instrument that is highlighted. It is in SELECTING the (other) instruments to uncheck the box - each instrument in the instrument list has it's own box to uncheck. Thanks!

Aha, I see what you're referring to.

Have you tried highlighting the first instrument and then applying the up/down arrows to select another instrument.  Beyond this, I think this just might be out of the realm of capability for FS.  I also use Keyboard Maestro with which I replaced the aging QuicKeys several years ago.  It has more capability and just might work for a situation like this.

But, to be honest, I have never ever used that checkbox in Finale.  Never had a reason to.

Thanks, appreciate the tip. That check box tells Finale to automatically number multiple instruments as 1,2,3 - if you don't want Finale to number the instruments, it needs to be unchecked. For each instrument. At this point, I can certainly do it manually - I just would like to try to script it. I'll try what you suggest. Thanks!
