Currently, if you have hidden staves in a Finale file, and export that file a Music XML, and read it into MuseScore, MuseScore shows the hidden staves. 

Either Music XML doesn't support hidden staves, or Finale doesn't encode them, or MuseScore doesn't read them.

Hi Paul:

 

When I hide a staff via the Staff Attributes "Force Hide Staff", the resulting MusicXML has

 <staff-details print-object="no"/>

I suspect the problem is how MuseScore is interpreting that MusicXML instruction.
