When I want to move 3 sixteenth notes and a sixteenth rest, I'm only able to move the notes with the note mover tool. I have to use speedy entry to move the rest. Would be nice to be able to mover rests in the same way as notes.

… I have to use speedy entry to move the rest …

Actually you can also use the plug-in Move Rests - which can move all rests in a selected region.

With the plug-in you can move the rests as high/low as needed - which in some cases can be waaay down below the bottom of the page.

In that way the rests will not print - even if they are not “hidden”, technically speaking.

How would you know if a rest was cross-staff, or an overfilled measure, without counting everything in both measures? There is no stem to indicate where it belongs.

it is more simple than entering a not in a new layer, and keeps your layers filled according to the time signature.

I did this in Simple by selecting the rest, and using the up-arrow until it got to the adjacent staff. Of course, the lower staff appears to be missing a beat. But who's counting?

Thanks Mike,

Yes this works better than in speedy entry. But I still think it would be an improvement, because with simple entry you need to take each note or rest individually. The idea of the cross staff tool is, I guess, also to select multiple notes and rest and move them together in one action. maybe it would even be better to enable such a thing for multiple measures simultaneously.
