in version 26 how do I change a note value without without erasing the note and starting over, in version 2014 I used to be able to click on an eighth and turn it into a quarter just by hitting #5 (the quarter note key) now that same action gives me a quarter rest in front of the eighth I was trying to change

You use the Option key on Mac, Alt on Windows, when you tap the 5 (or whatever.) It’s always been like that, as far as I can remember.

1) Are you using Windows Finale or Mac Finale?

2) Are you using the Speedy Entry Tool or the Simple Entry Tool?
