Mac Book Pro (Ventura)

The latest OS.  It's the "Audio Engine Failed to load. Error 7" issue

Well friends, 12 days ago I submitted case # 462544.  It shows that the problem was solved.
It has NOT BEEN SOLVED!  I may have reported that it was solved (audio was working).  Well, it's NOT WORKING.  Furthermore, I can't use my MacBook Pro computer on other computer projects until I restart the computer.  I don't want to have to restart the computer to use my computer.
I have followed your directions. 1) MIDI/Audio to Device Setup.  On this suggestion, the "Reset Rewire" is not enabled.
2) MIDI/Audio. Again to Device Setup and then the "Audio Setup" is NOT ENABLED, so I cannot "test audio output."
I don't want to have to restart, every time I want to access a Finale document.  Help me out here, please.

I've had a similar problem for some timw but with the Windows version. No necessary restart of the computer but a required restart of Finale. Still annoying when in the middle of anything.

This board  is a Users’ board. We are not MakeMusic Employees but it is safe to say that many of us are far more experienced.

Furthermore, I can't use my MacBook Pro computer on other computer projects until I restart the computer.  I don't want to have to restart the computer to use my computer.

Sometimes, it’s exactly what you need to do. If plug-ins are involved, sometimes a simple restart will not do — a shut down and reboot may be necessary. MakeMusic is not Apple. They did not build your hardware nor did they write whatever MacOS you are using.

Without knowing anything else about your setup and what you are trying to do, this is all the advice I have. Please tell us the version of Finale, your MacOS, what you were trying to do when -7 appeared and steps you have taken to resolve. One of us may have additional questions and/or suggestions.

BTW, -7 is a MacOS message telling you that Finale is unable to load (anything) in this case, the Audio Engine.

James,

You most likely have a conflict somewhere. First you need to make sure your printer, video and of course sound driver all the latest possible and in fact up to date. Finale doesn't like it if you have another program that is using sound like You Tube for instance. In Windows there is a setting to give exclusive use to the sound. Finale will run with out issue and tolerate other programs  but you have to have things set correctly. Check your drivers first and do it manually don't trust Windows to do it for you.

John,

Sorry I now nothing about Mac's. Mike H is your best friend there.
