Hi, using Finale v27 (Windows 10) and I was wondering how a section of my piece would look in 2/4 vs. the original 4/4, but when I put it into 4/4 it turned into this:

Dynamics dont follow what they are attached to, things become misplaced all over, etc. For comparison, this is what it looks like in 4/4:

I have no idea what could be doing this. I never had this issue before. It's baffeling! You'd think that going from 4 to 2 would be as easy as doubling the measures and dividing each measure into two. Is there something I'm missing?

Are you using Windows Finale ?

What version of Finale ?

Before you changed the time signature from 4/4 to 2/4, did you fill all empty 4/4 measures with real whole rests ?

Plug-ins menu > Note, Beam, and Rest Editing > Change to Real Whole Rests

PETER THOMSEN Just updated the post. V27 in Windows 10. I tried your suggestion and it didn't work. I've never needed to do something like that before in any version of Finale in order to not have issues changing time signature though.
