Title says it all! Currently, Master Tool Palette keyboard equivalents can only be saved within a document. They can't be saved outside of a document on a global level. Likewise, there is no way to export these settings from one document and then import them into another existing document. While I'm aware that you can save this info into Document Style documents and templates, I would still find it very useful to be able to be able to transfer Master Tool Palette keyboard equivalents between documents, to facilitate working on older files.

Thanks,

Peter

Have you ever looked into a macro program? You can use it to program Finale's tools and a lot more. And once a macro has been saved, you can use it in any Finale document. And use it in any app.

You don't mention what type of computer you're running. I'm on a Mac and Keyboard Maestro is an inexpensive macro app which can do what you want and much more.

Many shortcuts can be set directly to the Mac keyboard. I have the F keys programmed to quickly switch to the tools that I use the most.

Thanks, Jeffrey and Mike. I used QuicKeys back in the day, but once applications started expanding their own keyboard command implementation, I let it slide. I've heard mixed things about Keyboard Maestro but I should probably check it out. And yes, I have used the Mac system prefs Keyboard pane to set some commands in Finale (and other programs). That said, given that you can import and export libraries of various kinds in Finale, I still think it would be useful to add the Master Tool Palette custom key commands to the list of transferable items. Suggestions appreciated in any case!
