When adding a rit. symbol, the ritard affixes to the top staff, regardless of where the cursor is clicked. When recording the piano track of a choral setting with the voices muted, the rit. does not play, because the top staff is muted.
As a corollary, would we not prefer to see the "rit." indication on ALL staves?
From the Expression Selection screen go to Edit Categories, where you can create/edit a Score List to show the expression on any or all staves you want. If you don't want to change this setting for the whole Tempo Alterations category, you can create a specific new category for just your rit. settings.
