On playback it seems short notes are much softer than longer notes. This is probably because the attack rate does not vary with a note's duration. Thus short notes may never reach the sustain level that longer notes would have. If possible, it would seem best to have the attack rate vary with a note's duration. I find this is a problem with bowed instruments. I suppose I can only hope that this might be resolved in a future release. (Problem observed with Finale v. 26 and Windows 10).
