Anyone have any idea whether we will ever see fixes for the longstanding issues with CoMB 2? With the Finale 27 release, I'm evaluating whether to stay with the MM tools or look elsewhere.

There haven't been any updates to any of the Garritan libraries for several years, AFAIK. GPO similarly has several issues: risible ranges of the choirs; errors in the instrument definitions; incorrect loop points, etc.

The good thing about the SFZ format is that it is easy (comparatively) to edit the instrument definitions, correcting problems and modifying the instrument definitions. You can create new instruments, change key switches, trigger criteria, etc, etc.

NotePerformer 3.

I rented it for a month. It's great if you want everything to sound like Mozart, but completely unacceptable (to me) for Jazz/Modern works, so I cancelled it.

Which, COMB2 or Note Performer 3? I have both and I can assure they don't resemble Mozart in the least, to me anyway.

You might want to check out Audacity too. Hope you find what you are seeking.

I was referring to Note Performer 3 - specifically that the spacing of unarticulated notes is almost staccato. I exchanged emails with Wallander tech support (which was great by the way) and they confirmed that "The interpretation of NotePerformer is very classical in nature." and that there were no other interpretation modes or settings to alter it.
