How can I add another device to the instrument list?

When I go to the ScoreManager I see an Instrument list and a device. How do I add another device to this instrument list?

I want to see the name of the module I am using with the sounds. I did this in Pro 4 a while ago with a .ini file. Is it possible to add a new device to the Instrument list under ScoreManager?

You're welcome. Device is another word for Player or VI Host. Other apps use the word Instrument as a host for VI (Virtual Instrument) Libraries. It would be nice if there was a naming standard but there isn't.

 

You don't add Device(s) in Score Manager (but you can change them). You add Instrument(s). When you do, a new Device field will appear—if you don't like the one that Finale chose for you such as Aria Player, click to find a list of all the ones available to you and select a different one from there.

 

Likewise, if you don't like the Device for one of the instruments already in the list, then, again, click to reveal the list of all that are available to you.

 

You never gave us your OS or version of Finale. Here's the page for the Mac version of Finale 27. If not right, you can find your User Manual for your version in the Help menu.
