I've recently had problems with playback and midi entry sound. When I playback the music or play on the midi controller it sounds like someone is moving the modulation wheel. This only happens with finale, not when playing music/video on the same computer. This also only happens with the Finale program and isn't specific to particular notes. It appears to happen at random while playing and is different each time I playback the same piece. It doesn't appear to be an issue with the midi keyboard as it only happens with this program. Anyone have any ideas why this is happening?

Does the problem happen in all Finale documents?

(or is the problem document specific?)

 

Are you using Human Playback?

all documents. I have tired with human playback on and off and it doesn't make a difference

update. it appears that when I unhook my midi keyboard the problem resolves. but as soon as I hook up the keyboard it starts again, even if I'm just doing playback on the computer and not using the keyboard, and have cleared all midi data.
