I am a long time finale user and, like many, got used to a certain fast way of entering notes/rhythms using my computer keyboard. I was always able to use my number keys to change the duration of the NEXT note entry I was about to make. (The note under the caret was highlighted red and that is the note that changed with my keyboard BEFORE I hit enter.)

I still see the caret line after I enter a note, but hitting a number key on the keyboard changes the note that I already entered which, of course, is already correct. Therefore it is not speedy at all as I continually need to stop my flow, move to the mouse, slide over to the palette, and select my next duration that way (which DOES change the note under the caret). Am I missing a simple toggle or configuration that would correct this? It's quite frustrating and is keeping me from upgrading finale.
