Hello,

I have one simple but major problem in inputting harmonic analysis: My finale laptop in use has no numeric keypad!

Regarding those 3-stack inversion numbers that require the keystrokes Alt+nnnn ('n', being a number that must be typed on a keypad), is there an alternative keystroke to produce those 3-stack inversion numbers or any other character arrangements that would require a numeric keypad?

Thanks,

USB numberpads are inexpensive, and quite handy. You might also look at the Laptop Shortcut Set and see if there is an alternative.

The complaint that Finale has functionality on the extended not present on the standard goes back decades. The fn is your friend on a Mac but otherwise , what MikeR suggests about USB and Bluetooth numeric keypads.

Mac and Windows are a bit different regards to numeric pads so make sure you get one that is compatible.

Thank you both.

I suppose if the most viable option is a USB portable, I don't mind making little accommodations to include it. (Personally for me, less is always better; so that I can "travel lite". Then again, I suppose a detachable wont take up too much space in my music career briefcase.)
