My ongoing frustration with Finale stems from my using it to initially compose music that I then render as audio in a DAW. This requires two steps; first I have to Apply Human Playback for the entire file (printing things like dynamics, keyswitches, etc. to the overall file) and then exporting a midi file.
The problem is that different Human Playback styles apply dynamics to different CC's. The VST libraries I own all use Midi CC 11 (Expression) for dynamics (that seems to include Garritan's Aria Player, although it's not what I use for final versions of my music) but none of the Human Playback styles prints dynamics to that CC. Typically, they print to either Volume or Modulation. This requires additional steps when I import the Midi file generated by Finale, copying or cutting the cc dynamics data and pasting it into CC11.
All we need is a checkbox allowing us to choose where dynamics data will be printed to fix the problem. Is that reasonable? Or is there already a setting I can change to make this happen?
Thanks,
