The new update still doesn't retain the original position of all manually-placed fingering when one chooses the option "No" to updating automatic articulations, so extensive work would be required to restore it.  And if one chooses to go with the new automatic positioning, finger numbers placed side-by-side in the original (as for trills, finger substitutions etc.) are placed on top of each other; so that also would require a lot of work. 

As a result, one is forced to leave some old files with older versions of Finale unless one has a lot of time on their hands.
