Have you tried Keyboard Shortcuts in the Help menu ?

At the top right corner, click the Expand button, and then the Print button (it can be a pdf).

I don’t think anybody knows and uses all of them. Go over the lists, and decide which ones you really need first. Write them down. Get used to using them. Once they are in muscle memory, then you can go back and learn some more. At least, that works for me…

Also, if a command in a menu or sub-menu has a keyboard shortcut, then that command has its keyboard shortcut displayed next to the command.

Take e. g. a look in the Speedy menu and its sub-menus.

This web page has most, if not all Finale 26 shortcuts.... All in categories and downloadable. It claims to list 577 Finale shortcuts.

For some reason, if I post a web link it doesn't show - says "waiting approval" - yet never appears... so assemble this URL and you will find a terrific set of downloadable PDF Finale shortcut sheets...

Delete the underscores in the gap shown above. Make sure the URL doesn't contain %20 from any hidden spaces or line feeds that this forum display might insert.

Way too complicated. When I’m teaching basic Finale classes, I cover the easy ones: durations, modifications, intervals, corrections, in the first hour. It takes longer for them to sink into their muscle memory, of course. But they start off being able to get the notes on the page. Once they have the basics, they can easily pick up others as they go along, and see what they need to learn based on their own style.

anyway...

I am perhaps old school but a decent way of printing them could be useful. I find that could also improve  the muscle memory...

Why not type them out yourself? That would be a good way to se what's there, start getting them into your memory, and find the ones that you will never see yourself needing.

I sometimes use a little app called “cheat sheet” which shows on screen all the shortcuts for whichever app you’re in. Works great in Finale it also recognises any shortcuts you have programmed in and displays them. All you have to do is hold the “cmd key down and the shortcuts are displayed on screen, I find it useful when I have a senior moment or when I haven’t used a key stroke for a while.

I have KeyCue which can do the same as CheatSheet.

KeyCue can do more, but CheatSheet is free.

… Hi Peter, did you "set" in some way Cheatsheet? …

It is Kevin Eland who sometimes uses CheatSheet.

I have never used CheatSheet.

I agree with Alessandro. That 2 seconds is too short, for me, too. But I don’t see a way to change it. I’m going to try contacting the developer.

Hi I'm not sure if you are using the same app, mine will stay on the screen for as long as you hold down the "command" key.  There is no set time. I downloaded mine from....  https://cheatsheet-mac.en.softonic.com/mac.

the problem is that because cmd is widely used in Finale and Mac apps... CheatSheet springs up toooooo much!

Kevin, Alessandro and I are talking about how quickly it appears. Two seconds is too short of a delay before opening. I was unable to find any contact info for the developer.
