I'd like to make a single digit time signature, in my case the number 6. I know I can set a six-four setting with six crochets in the usual way. That signature really "means" two dotted minims, though. Whereas the single digit conveys my idea that there are six counts. I tried the help files, which are usually so informative, but found no solution. Finale tech suggests turning the time signature display off and substituting an expression or a t4ext number. This does the trick, i suppose, but perhaps there is another way. Using Windows 7.

John, using an expression for your custom time signature (Maestro 48pt font should do the trick) is the easiest way to accomplish what you are wanting to accomplish. If you are wantng to use 1,2,4,8,12 and other common time signatures denominators that Finale can do, you can place them on top of each other in the document options. But for your needs, hiding the time signature and making an expression will be your best bet.
