I am using Finale 2014 for Mac. I can add notes to the staff but when ever I try to add articulations, expressive text, etc., Finale crashes. I recently updated my Mac to El Capitan 10.11.6. Would this interfere with my Finale software?

Could you check which version of Finale you've got? ( Finale 2014 menu > About Finale...) If it's 2014d or older, you'll want to make sure you download 2014.5 from the My Account portion of our website (www.finalemusic.com). 2014.5 is designed specifically for compatibility with El Capitan and newer and should work well for you.
