Finale 2014.5, Win 8.1

I'm doing my usual copying and pasting or cloning between staves in a choral score. Today, for some reason, every time I copy things to a stave, the overall place where I've previously set my lyrics to be aligned in that same stave gets thrown upward -- as if someone had dragged the second arrow in the "Type Into Score" set of 4 arrows. I have never seen this before and haven't done any recent update or patch (at least not that I'm aware of). Any reason you know why this is happening? Can you fix it? It's annoying and time-sucking.

thanks

To clarify: say I'm pasting into m. 34. When I do that, all of the previous lyrics in that voice (m. 1-33) get jacked up a half-inch or so, to the point where they are no longer properly aligned. Anyone else seen this?

Hello Jonathan,

It sounds like your lyric baselines for that staff somehow got a little off. If you Grab the Lyric Tool and then go into the menu Lyrics > Adjust Baselines..., you should see what the baselines are set to there. The "extra" space or the stuff that's making it appear strangely, I would guess would be in the last entry box in the "Adjust Baselines" window near "Staff System" (the one I've highlighted in the picture). Make sure that the correct staff is selected in this box, then filter through the systems in the bottom part, and change the number to "0" if anything else pops up, and you should be good to go.

P.S. The number that is in the bottom entry box reflects how much that second triangle is moved when the "Type Into Score" option is selected.

I hope that makes sense, it's Monday and I haven't quite woken up yet...
