I have Finale 2014.5 for Windows. I have a choral piece with handclaps that I notated in Finale 2009. I'm trying to render an audio file in the current version and the handclaps are gone (they were in the GM bank). I've looked but I can't find them in the Aria music player or any other device. Is there a way to replace them, slapstick or snare drum will do in a pinch, but I must be doing something wrong because no percussion will sound. Help!

Are you working with the 2009 GIfF sounds or a later set (such as GPO4)?

To be honest I have no idea what sounds I was using in 2009. That was an old computer vthat hasn't been turned on in a while (Windows XP). My question regards handclaps in version 2014.5. Are they in there? If they're not is there a slapstick? The sounds that came with 2014.5 is what I'm using because version 2009 was on a different computer.

Inside GIfF in F2014.5, clap appears in the Jazz Fusion Drum Kit Map, but it is

1. Not automatically assigned to a Percussion Layout

2. VERY quiet

If you have done any work w/ Perc Layouts, it is not hard to create a new one (I call mine "Clap" for further use), select the Jazz Fusion Drum Set for the map in the upper r.h. corner of the Edit screen and then use the Note Selection pull-down to find Hand Clap in the Miscellaneous sub-menu and assign it to a location on the staff.

For volume boost I put the Clap in its own slot in Devices & Effects and use the Garritan Ambience to boost the Dry signal (to 0.0 ?)

See how that works for you.
