Did you use the Text Insert to create the title on the first page of your music file? (Sorry if that sounds like a stupid question.) If you (or someone else) typed an earlier title into the title text box at the start of your music, changing the title in the Score Manager will not change anything; those Score Manager fields rely on using Text Inserts in the various text fields on your document.

In the older version of this program, it worked directly from the Score Manager box - the File Info tab.  Yes, I know how to use text boxes, but that is not as consistent as using the Score Manager, File Info tab.

I can't use Insert when I have a Text box.  It is grayed out on the menu.  I would note that I am on a Mac, so this might be different on a PC.

I just tried this on my Mac and had no probs with graying out. Would you be able to create a new text field on page 1, put the Title insert into it, and then use the new text field to replace the former Title text field?

Would I have to do this on every page?  That is annoying, especially when it used to work smoothly from the Score Manager, File Info tab perfectly well.  What about the name of the score?  That isn't appearing either.  Maybe I should just go back to the previous version of Finale, make the correction and then reload it into the new version.  That is also annoying, but might work better.

Hi Laura

Forgive for asking what is probably a dumb question but... is this a new document you created, or are you editing an older doc?

Have you tried creating a new document from scratch and then going through the same process?

Cheers...

Daz :o)

I just tried using my old method on a different file as a test in the new version of the software.  It worked correctly.  Now to figure out why it doesn't work in the file that I am working on.

I created a new file and copied everything from the non-working file into the new file.  It now works correctly.  I have no idea what was wrong with the old file.  It is now replaced.  Thanks for everyone's help.
