Hi

Your file probably has midi tempo data emedded into the it.

There are a number of ways around this.

1) If you click on the speaker icon and select Playback/record Options, make sure that "Play recorded tempo changes" is disabled

2) Use the selection tool and select the entire score. From the Edit Menu select "Clear Selected Items.." Click on "None", then under MIDI Data select "Tempo Changes"

Worked for me, too!

Where is this "speaker icon" of which  you speak? I looked in the playback controls and in the midi sections and can't see it. 

The so called “speaker icon” in the Playback Controls can be seen in Finale for Windows.

Instead, in the Playback Controls in Finale for Mac OS there is a small triangle symbol.

If you cannot see the playback controls, check for them in the Windows Menu.
