I'm using Finale PrintMusic 2014, and for whatever reason the multimeasure rests are not coming up at all. I clicked the selection tool, highlighted the measures, and clicked multimeasure rests then create. Absolutely nothing happens and nothing changes! The funny thing is, it worked when I first tried it. Then I went on to finish the part and then the multimeasure rest deleted itself and there were just 3 separate measures of rest. I can't get it to work for the life of me, does anyone know how to get it to work? Thanks in advance!

Hi Cathy

 

You probably have 'standard' rests in your score. Finale will not convert any measure containing normal rests into multimeasure rests.

To fix this issue, use the selection too and select the region in question (or the entire score) and from the menus select Plug-ins->Note, Beam and Rest Editing->Change to default Whole Rests.

You will then be able to create the multimeasure rests.

Does PrintMusic have that plug-in? If not, you'll have to delete the full measure rests individually.
