With the increase in Windows 10 touchscreen devices that are hybrid tablets/laptops, I wish Finale would finally support touch and pen input. I use 2012 and skipped the 2014 upgrade in hopes that Finale would include it in a 2016 release. No luck. But with devices like the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book, for certain tasks, using pen/touch might be more convenient than mouse or keyboard. Could that be implemented added into the latest Finale withough waiting another two years for the next release?

Hi all:

We are research the best way to provide touch and pen support in Finale. It isn't in our near term plans unfortunately. Thank you for the suggestion.

I agree!
I have a Microsoft Surface Pro 3, which I bought specifically for using StaffPad.
The newest iteration of Sibelius also supports touchscreen notation.
Is it possible to use a stylus to enter notation on the staves with Finale (as it currently ships)?

Before posting a separate thread I’m just trying to do some research here.

So does staff pad import with no problems into finale ?

Looking for some kind of stylus app for input.

Staff pad has no cord symbol or layout capabilities so it needs to integrate with finale.

If StaffPad exports XML, then Finale can import it. Whether it does so with "no problems" depends on the accuracy of StaffPad's XML export. Finale has one of the most forgiving XML import engines of any notation program.

Thank you

Do you know if the community here has any support threads dedicated to StaffPad or a Notion

I would expect such threads to be more likely on the Staffpad or Notion web sites.

Certainly Finale has info on importing XML files.
