When I paid for Finale 25 and downloaded the update, it would not install on my computer. I looked everywhere to see what the system requirements were and could not find any. I wrote to the tech help and was told that Finale 25 requires Windows 7. I have been using Finale since 1984. I have used it to write charts for several albums by several major artists, arrangements for Symphony acts, big bands etc.

I've run into this problem before so I waited until I was done with a major project before updating. Now I am out $125.00 because I prefer to keep my old operating system and not go through the nightmare of trying to upgrade my system. I have tried to do that in the past. My Dell XPS 420 was designed to run Windows Vista Home Premium and despite all of the bad publicity, it has run perfectly for me for the past 16 years. Finale has paid for my computer dozens of time over and I am very happy with the program.

Now I feel ripped off because there was no warning about the system requirements at the download site. I have a new version of Finale that I cannot use. I WANT MY MONEY BACK!

Where did you get an upgrade for $125? Make Music advertises it for $149.

If you got the upgrade from Make Music, contact them, explain the problem, and it's extremely likely you'll get a refund. If not, you're probably out the 125.

This is listed in a few threads that MakeMusic has a 30 day refund policy,

If you use that PC to connect to the internet, you will find major problems by the end of the year if you stay with 32bit OS and associated browsers. These changes were announced in 2014 and are already being implemented. Just a heads-up—I'm only the messenger.

Just to let you know - I followed the link for refunds and spoke with Justin. He was very helpful and credited my account. Thanks to everyone for the feedback on getting a refund. The 30 day notice is great! Don't bother notifying tech. about this kind of problem.

Not understanding your post. As far as I can see, your system doesn't meet the requirements for 25 to work. You need hardware and an OS that supports 64bit

What is there for tech support to answer?
