I am looking at the "Open Recent" option from the File dropdown menu in Finale 2014.5 on iMac OS X 10.11.4.

Previously to today I would see a list of my "recent" files that I have worked on (not sure

what the definition of "recent" is. But that is not my problem ...)

Today, I just see  the option "Clear Menu".

What happened to the files I was working on yesterday ...?

Do I dare click on "Clear Menu"?
