I am curious, if you save another version of the file (for testing purposes, File > Save As), move the Garritan Instruments for Finale to the top of your sound map priority list (MIDI/Audio > Sound Map Priority), choose MIDI/Audio > Reassign Playback Sounds, and then try playback are the dynamics still not responding?
I'll try that and get back to you. Also, a question. I have learned that in updating sounds to pers orch 5, after putting the instruments into the Aria player/VST, I also had to go to the score manager and update it as well. Should I expect this for all older scores I am updating for sound?
And one other. At the score manager I saw all sorts of different attacks and bowings etc. for violins. For excample, sul tasto. How, or what articulation figure or expression guide is there that lines up which bowing with which marking? I don't use a keyboard, I input with the mouse, and am at a loss how to utilize all these great options. Thanks
Tried the advice. PO 5 was entered as default with all solo strings so was not helpful. I have an enormous amount of issues with this program.
1.Play back at times goes into a cacophonous or jumbled mass of sounds as though all the music is being into a few measures.
2. There is quite a bit of crackling, like an old 78 record playing.
3. Sometimes only a few instruments play back and others are left silent. Dynamics are certainly not consistently produced.
4. There are thumping noises at times with the lush strings and crackling.
So, I need somewhere to start to fix these items or the program will be worthless to me.
A question. I am using section strings. In order to have the different bowing's enacted should I be using the KS version of the strings? Are they activated by expressions, articulations or both? Is there a listing for the articulations or expressions that trigger these different attacks or is there suck a thing? If not, how do I get the sound in the score when and where I want it?
