I experienced a few 'freezes' on finale 2014.5 a few months ago.  Most commonly, I could not change the time signature.  This has progressed exponentially over the past few weeks.  Now I cannot input notes on the programme or select measures.  It is actually useless.  I have neither changed nor updated my mac software during this time.  I am on Yosemite 10.10.5

If anyone can help I would be very glad.  I was a Sibelius user for 10 years and never experienced anything but the occasional freeze.

You need to tell us what Mac you have. It makes a difference.

iMac, 27" display, 32GB DDR, running 10.11.6

 

Try these.  If the first one doesn't help, try the second, etc.

1. save your work (this sometimes frees up operations, like scrolling to the end of a longer piece)

2. restart Finale

3. force quit Finale and restart it

4. reboot

These work for me when Finale 2014.5 starts ignoring keystrokes, won't scroll to the end of a document or locks up.

Again, tell us what Mac you have. Do you have a Mini or new Mac Pro?

Hi again,

Any further  thoughts?

This programme has absolutely come to a grinding halt now.  I cannot enter anything.  

Otherwise my Mac is working just perfectly in all other aspects.
