Is there a way to import a .smg file into finale without subscribing to SmartMusic? I have Finale 2014 running on Windows 10. Thank you for your help.

... apologies ahead of time if this issue has come up before, but the forum does not seem to have a dedicated search feature and I've spent a good deal of time trying to research the subject. BTW, it would be really nice to speak with a human when one calls for support.

hi every year i have bought the newest finale but it seems that the upgrade is getting worst, i have had the same problem , in all honesty the best version is version 2012c.r13 there I can scan any document and import a smg file with no problem. I call support and NO answer or its disconnected. Success in your ideal.

Thank you for your help so far. To be clear, the issue is not  that i wish to export onto SmartMusic. Rather, it is the way around (I've sent the "request" email regarding this). I wish to be able to open a SmartMusic file with Finale 2014.5 and I can't seem to get to it.

The other issue that I'm finding out is how difficult it is (if at all possible) to get help. The "users' manual" site is useless to me and I have not been able to speak with a human yet. If the answer to the question is no, well, then, so be it. It should not take an experienced Finale user 2-3 days of frustration to get an answer yea or nay. Forgive my rant, but since Finale is able to create an SMGX document, one would think it could read it too, n'est-ce pas?

I don't believe that it's possible to convert an .smp or .smpx back into Finale or to a .mus or .musx file. I do a great deal of work with .smp files and have not found a way to reverse the process.
