 Hello,

I just upgraded to the finale 25. I am a drumline arranger and I have made my own percussion maps and layouts. How can I easily transfer that info over from my 2014.5 to the new 25.

I am a mac (most recent) user. If I HAVE to I will re-enter information, but I'd rather not.   QUICK responses would be great.

 Thanks!

Hopefully, the percussion maps will transfer from 2014.5 to v25 without any issues, but if they do not (or perhaps they aren't which may be why you're posting here), you can open up a file with the layout you like, then go in the menu File > Save Library, and then a box will appear with some things to check. Just check "Percussions Layouts" and Press "OK" then name it whatever you would like (it should go into your Libraries folder or you can save it wherever you'd like). From here, you can open up a file in v25 and then load that library to your document and your percussion layout should appear.

Now the actual percussion Map is a little different and I'm not 100% sure if this will work as I don't deal with playback all that often, so take this one with a grain of salt... And I think that again, the maps should transfer from 2014.5 to v25. If worse comes to worse, try this: Under User/Library/Application Support/MakeMusic/Finale 2014.5, there should be a folder called "MIDI Device Annotation" and this same folder should appear in your Finale (v25) folder. Just replace the v25 folder with the folder from 2014.5 and your MIDI Devices (and hopefully percussion maps too) should follow. HOWEVER, because of all of the new sounds that were added to these maps in the new version of Finale, you may not be able to access those new sounds with these old annotation files.

Hope that helps!
