Hello, I just got a new mac laptop that runs the El Capitan OS, and I want to use Aria player with Logic X. However, no matter what I do, Logic X doesn't recognize the Aria Player at all. I followed all of the tutorials I could find, but nothing worked. I'm out of ideas as to how to fix the situation, and I was wondering if any other people have had a similar predicament and could offer some much needed advice.

Thanks for your time!

Hi - I've got the same problem. Did you get anywhere? I was wondering if its anything to do with where JABB 3 is installed - whether the Applications Folder is the right place.

I also just upgraded from GPO 4 because Logic wasn't seeing that. Now I have both, and can load neither into my Logic X.

After installing the following:

Garritan_Personal_Orchestra_4.02_MAC
MAC_ARIA_1.9.0.2_Update
MAC_ARIA_Player_v1.872

I had the same problem.  After talking / emailing with MakeMusic support, they suggested that I do the following:

Delete "/Library/Audio/Plug-ins/Components/ARIA Player AU. component" (which is the plugin)

Re-install Garritan_Personal_Orchestra_4.02_MAC

Re-install MAC_ARIA_Player_v1.872

This worked for me.

There is still a problem with the Preferences dialog not working in stand-alone mode.  But I am mostly interested in plug-in mode which now works for me.

Hope this helps

When playing a file in Finale (25) on Mac Pro with Sierra, error popups the "Garritan Aria Player. Aria engine is corrupted. Please re-install " I have re-installed Aria player but problem continues. What is the fix?

David, thanks for posting. I spent a couple days trying to figure this out. Your method worked.. not sure why, new files look the same, but whatever.

Lane,

You're welcome.  Glad to see it helped someone.  As for why it helped, I really don't know.

Wendell,

Sorry to hear that.  All I can suggest is actually talking to MakeMusic support.  They know more than I do.

I went to the main make music page, then chose contact us.

Same here! I bought the upgrade also thinking that was the problem, but is not recognizing the VST / AU either. :(

Another thumbs up to David Baker. I was one hair away from throwing a hissy-fit when I found this post. It worked liked a charm. I'm struck by the incredibly messy way files are installed... I have a whole new Applications and Library folder on the external drive, when all I wanted there were the samples. It's working... I'll leave well alone. ,-)

Re original question - getting Logic Pro X to recognise Garritan.

I think I've finally cracked this!  I had to download the install files again for MAC as formerly using Windows.  All instruments saved to external drive.  Then updated Aria player.

Solution: Open the Aria player folder, copy the aria player icon (it's the application), paste to component file and job done!
