Is it possible to move clef signs around after you've entered one mid-measure? I have a section that switches back and forth a lot for the right hand of the piano, but there are rests in the measure that just make it look very crowded. Updating the layout doesn't make enough difference, nor does moving the rests. It seems like the clef sign is somehow linked to a rest....very closely! Thanks for the help.

Hi Philip

Use the Clef tool, select the handle of the clef then drag it to a new position

Ah.  I'm impatient....when you drag the clef, the clef doesn't actually move until you've re-positioned the handle! When I did that before I just saw that the clef didn't move and abandoned ship. Thanks for the help, Daz!

In Finale 2014.5  MacOS 10.11.2   How can I change clefs in mid-measure? I see a few questions about that here but no instructions. When I try to select a partial measure the tool selects the whole measure, and I don't see anything resembling a handle. The old system worked great, why was it changed? And isn't there a user manual where I can look up stuff like this?  Thanks!

Hi Janet

To select a partial measure with the tool, simplt click-drag to select a region. Start your selection in the blank space between staves and drag from below the staff to above the staff. If you click inside the staff you will automatically select the entire measure.

Once you have selected a region, use the metatool to set the staff (press 4 for bass clef, 1 for treble clef etc)

Cheers...
