My playback would not go back to the numbered measure where the sign was. So I entered the number of measures it had to go back to.That made it go back to the correct measure, but then it quit playing back in 2 measures. Has anyone run into this kind of problem?

Your D.S. should jump to the measure number containing the Segno sign rather than backwards a set number of measures.

 

Under this setup you will have to apply a Coda jump between the D.S. and the Segno (on pass 2) to jump out of the repeated phrase.
