Hello, all! Subject line should explain everything. I am waiting as long as I possibly can before plunking down $$ for V25. Thanks!
Hi Merrilee,
Just to be clear here, after downloading the installer for the Java SE 6, did you run the installer and restart your computer? After downloading installer it must be run for this work. If so, you will definitely want to contact our Customer Success team for some additional assistance. You can do so using the Submit a request link at the top of this page.
Hope this helps!
There is no problem. Zip. Zero. Zed. Nada.
Certain aspects of 32 bit applications must have the 32 bit Java Runtime Environment (JRE 6). If on a Mac, you get it from Apple. MakeMusic also has a link. Download and install it — you will no longer see the message.

Finale 25, being 64 bit, does not have this issue. Neither does it require JRE 8 from Oracle as its JREs are embedded in MusicXML. There are some web sites and applications that require JRE 8 but that has nothing to do with Finale.
Although this issue has been around since OS 10.9 Mavericks (yes, it has), many Mac users still don't understand it.
When Oracle bought SUN, Apple and Microsoft et all were no longer allowed to include JREs with the OS. JRE 6 is 32 bit only and, for the Mac, you get it from Apple (the MM download is just a link to Apple). Win and LINUX users get JRE 6 from Oracle. JRE 8 is 64 bit only and must be obtained from Oracle, all OS.
There is a concerted effort to make Java go away from web sites by January 1, 2017. Clearly, that didn't happen. This is why up to date browsers ask if you wish to enable it for certain sites—assuming you have the right version(s) installed for your OS.
