I'd like my choir members to be able to view and use a file I created with Print Music. I used Finale Reader years ago, but I when I went online to look for a current version, I couldn't find one. I found a page to download Finale Viewer, and figured that might be what it's called now. So I tried twice to install it on my Windows laptop. A popup says "installation successful", but I can't find the program anywhere. Is this even the right product?

Hi Kristen

 

Finale viewer is an (old) app that runs in a web browser (ie 6 or later). I don't think that it is supported much anymore

 

Try Finale NotePad http://www.finalemusic.com/products/finale-notepad/ 

 

It is free and will run on both Mac and Windows. However, it does have issues on the newest MacOS (Sierra)

As long as the people you wish to pass the scores on to are not running Sierra (MacOS 10.12), they should be fine.

Hi Kirsten

 

To my knowledge, not really. The viewer that you looked at was developed as a direct competitor to Scorch, a similar product by Sibelius.

The concept was to allow people who sold musical scores online to give potential customers a method of viewing/buying the score.

It did not take off.
