Hi Eric. Thanks for your feedback. The lyrics box does not have arrows, it's just on and off. The arrow appears on the cursor and you point the arrow to the note you want to put lyrics on. I have my first verse in there, and when I point the arrow there again, it just highlights the first verse so that you could make changes to it. I tried "enter" , which worked on another program, but all that did was to delete that syllable. I was using a different program, and was frustrated because I could not get only one staff to come up to work with. I am brand new at this, I always wrote out my music by hand, and I am very frustrated! Thanks again, Eric.
Select the measure stack and press "4" (without quotes). Sometimes this works and is the simplest solution.
Use the selection tool along with the down-arrow to move a measure or two to the following system to provide more space. (You might want to try this on a copy of the file if you are not familiar with the implications of this technique on subsequent measures.)
The other approach would be to use the lyric tool (and the adjust syllables option) to right-click on the handle for the word sad and change the justification or alignment to "left" to move it farther to the right.
Another problem with lyrics. I am working in aSAB grand staff. I am putting lyrics in the middle of the three staves to save space avoid having words being repeated in every staff. My problem is auto numbering. This is what happens.
okay here but I don't want it to start numbering again when I type words in the bass clef alone.
Starts numbering again. I don't want that. How do I avoid this?
