I am running 2014 on a Dell E6500 laptop. After converting to Win 10 and reinstallind Finale I cannot get the articulation shortcut keys to work. If I select the articulation icon and then apply the pointer to a note, pressing a key (e.g. a number key) and doing a right click does not apply the articulation. I have selected the "laptop keyboard" option in the simple entry setup panel.

Any advice appreciated

For me it was always a left-click. i.e.

  1. Choose Articulation Tool
  2. Press "A" key
  3. Left-click on a note.
  4. Accent appears on note.

Thanks Adrian.

Hmmm- i play the piano and don't know my right from my left. I meant to say "Left+Click" as you pointed out. At any rate I use the procedure that you mention and I do not get the fingering numbers. Thus if I press a "2" key and click a note, nothing happens.  I can do it manually, that is, double click the note and the articulation panel pops up so I can select the "2".

I am now at work and things are fine with this computer. I will do some more looking when I get home. I wonder if there is some option that turns on/off the articulation table.
