Finale V27, macos Sonoma 14.6.1

Having a problem adding another note to an existing position in the 16th note triplet?

In the attached image, the beat 1 - 1st note, trying to add another note. (eg., snare drum).  Doing so replaces the existing note (eg., the hi-hat)?

I'm using the Speedy Tool.

Speedy Entry Tool.

 

Position the crosshair on the beat (rhythm position) where you need to add a note.

Move the crosshair up/down to the desired scale step.

 

Speedy menu > Speedy Edit Commands > Add Note

 

To work faster, memorize the keyboard shortcut (shown in the Speedy Edit Commands sub-menu).
