On the Steinberg site the Dorico Pro is offered at 579$ VAT included...
if I accept the Dorico crossgrade the Vat has to be added, why?

Do not think the VAT applies in the U.S., but then they have their own taxes.

I live in Europe and in Europe you can buy Dorico Pro at 579$ VAT included...

Why add the VAT for the crossgrade?

at least make it self-evident

Have you tried to purchase it yet to see if VAT is on the invoice? No, you haven’t. Until you know for certain, why are you making noise about this?

Steinberg/Yamaha’s store is based in the EU. MakeMusic’s is based in the US. If the MM store is required to collect VAT, it will show up on your invoice—if not, it won’t. International laws and treaties govern this. We don’t.

Thanks for letting us know. What, exactly, do you want anyone to do about this? You need to complain to the EU about the laws and treaties that require this.

VAT is not an issue in the US or Canada—we have a lot of other taxes. And yes, it is noise when none of us here nor MakeMusic can do anything about it.
