As those at MakeMusic understand, I'm sure, this transition away from Finale has been difficult for composers who have learned and used Finale for decades. Most composers have hardly begun the process of transferring all of their work from one program to another, and initially we were promised a year of support for the product, at least giving us time to "abandon ship," as it were. Now however, for Mac Finale users, that support ended today. In light of this new information, I have a suggestion.

Make Finale open source. That way, it can retain public support at least through this software update to help composers avoid the decision of suddenly abandoning Finale, ceasing updates to their operating system, or maintaining an entirely separate computer with which to use Finale on. This is the clear, customer-friendly, cost-effective option that will ensure good will throughout this transition and show that MakeMusic cares about more than their corporate partnerships. Please, think of those that have been dedicated to Finale, some for decades.

You are just as wrong on this as you were yesterday. Repeating misinformation helps no one. MakeMusic has deleted some of these threads already.
