It would be great if we had a bit more control over what is shown in ossias.  As it stands now, slurs, articulations, chords, lyrics, etc. are not included; and they really need to be available for various notation projects, despite what the usual nomenclature is.

The current Ossia Tool is a really primitive (awkward) legacy tool.

MM will probably do better to configure their regular staff options to allow users to create ossia passages. (I'm thinking first of all about how to connect the ossia measure(s) with the main, partner staff with a left measure line.)

Clearly the need for ossia is still important, and an improved way to manage it (which I think Michael has said they are looking at) is called for.

So do I.  And I hope that it will be able to do the partially dashed LEFT bar line needed to connect the ossia staff to the other staves, and the partially dashed double bar line needed to connect the ossia to the other staves at the end of a section, neither of which are now possible in Finale without very awkward workarounds. (Sorry if I've requested this previously.) And OT we need large adjustable fermatas as shown in Example 2.
