Hello. I'm working on Finale 2017 on a chamber music piece. The very first bar must have no time signature (like a cadenza), then followed by the first theme on a 5/4 time signature. I can't seem to get the first bar not to have any time signature. How can it be solved? Thank you.

You have posted in the forum for Feature Requests.

My guess is that you intended to post in the forum for Problems & Questions, but ended in this forum instead.

 

1) There is no Finale 2017. You probably mean Finale v25.

 

2) To hide the time signature in the first measure, use the Measure Tool, and double-click the first measure.

In the pop up menu Time Signature, choose “Always Hide”.
