I would like to be able to edit the voicing and register of chords played back with the Chord tool.

Also, I would like the option to have Finale transcribe into notation the chord voicings that are played back when Enable Chord Playback is selected.

Finale version 25.5, Mac OS 10.13.2

… I would like to be able to edit the voicing and register of chords played back with the Chord tool …

This is already possible, but it is not very user friendly:

From the Chord Suffix Editor you can edit the playback of the chord suffix, by clicking the button “Set Play…”.

You get to the dialog box “Suffix Keynumber Offsets” where you can specify each chord tone, measured in chromatic half-steps from the chord root.

Examples:

-5 means the chord tone a perfect fourth below the root. (minus 5 half-steps)

7 means the chord tone a perfect fifth above the root. (plus 7 half-steps)

The voicing will be the same in all 12 transpositions of the suffix, regardless of the musical context.

To get (in the same document) a different voicing of the same chord suffix, make a duplicate copy of the suffix, and edit the duplicate copy.

This, too, is possible, but again, not very user friendly:

Export the document as a MIDI file.

Then import that MIDI file into Finale.
