more and more people will work with large screens in the future and I know the Finale team is already working to speed up things with 4K+ graphics (Retina on Mac). With the large screens, however, come some new issues as well.

The layer indicator on the bottom left is VERY tiny, working on my hi res 32' ultrawide screen (3440*1440). Not only the size is an issue, but also the fact that in order to check which layer I am currently in (speedy entry), my head and my eyes have to turn down to the left corner to check and then get back to the middle of screen where I am working right now. If you write a lot of piano music with 2 or more layers, this becomes a very annoying issue.

I am sure there are many ways to do that, here are some ideas:

* instead of turning the music into a different layer colour, on could change the colour of the entire speedy entry box background to that colour. That way, while in note entry mode, you would always KNOW which layer you are working on, instead of having to look for the tiny box. Also changing layers would be instantly recognizable. As it is now, I sometimes don't know if I should move up or down in the list to get to the next layer (shift+ arrow up/down) and I have to check that tiny box again. For regular score display - outside the speedy entry box - notes could still be in the designated layer colours. Of course the user would have to choose more pastelly colours for their layers, but I think they'd manage.

* moving the layer information box to the middle of the screen, where all the action is. And making it bigger. The text in the info box could also reflect the layer colour, just to be sure.
