I made an audio file of just five of the instruments playing. Should have done it on a copy of the original. How do I restore the file so that it plays ALL OF THE INSTRUMENTS ON THE SCORE?

Need more info:

We need to know what you did to generate the abbreviated sound file.

  1. Did you delete the other parts from your file?
  2. Did you mute the unwanted voices?
  3. Do you have any backup(s) of the file, even if in an older state?

All the parts are on the file VISUALLY. I checked the studio view and nothing is muted at present. I first did a file with just those five instruments and may have imported those five instruments into the present orchestral instrumentation file where those original instruments are supposed to play their original parts

What do your Score Manager and Aria Player (assuming you are using VST sounds) look like? You may have to use MIDI/Audio > Reassign Playback Sounds if the Aria slots are (partially) empty.

On score ,manager everything is Smart Music Soft Synth. I have gotten a dialog box saying Aria player missing. WAS ARIA PLAYER NOT AROUND IN FINALE 14.5?

The files for the other two movements work fine and score manager says soft synth too. Maybe I messed with the L and R channels in studio view and that threw it out of whack. I don't use playback for anything other than music samples before a work is premiered

If you haven't used the "Submit a request" link at the top of the page to submit the file (or the misbehaving section of it) directly to MakeMusic Support, that would likely be the next step so someone can actually look at your file to troubleshoot it.

Aria/Garritan sounds (GIFF) were included with Finale 2014 versions, and you should be able to download them via your My Account section of the Finale web site.
