I have a composition that has a pizzicato on only one cello note in the entire piece, but playback continues to play all subsequent cello notes with a pizzicato.

I tried using a legato articulation (and hiding the word) but that did not "kill" the pizzicato.

A text pizz. could be used, but would not play on that note.

Suggestion?

Use the "arco" expression?

it was suggested I use the arco expression.

I did a test measure and the arco returned to legato but unfortunately the pizzicato sound continued so I had both expressions working (probably impossible for an instrumentalist to actually do).

Pizzicato as an expression seems to be triggered just by the word as there are no playback settings for the expression. I also tried to create a new expression using pizz. and that played back pizzicato for that note and all subsequent notes.

I can avoid the problem by using a text item for the expression, but it would not play back nor would the text remain locked in place if document layout changes are made. Text entries remain locked to the relative position on the page, not the note.

now arco worked!

My test must have had something corrupting the playback. Subsequent test work.
