I have Windows 10 Home 64 bit and compose via Sibelius 7- 1- 3 with Garritan Personal Orchestra 4.

I had great difficulty configuring Garritan with Sibelius a few years ago and the supplier of the Garritan software had to take control of my computer to set things up properly. I have just acquired a new Dell desktop and my computer guru has set it all up but cannot get Garritan and Aria player to work properly. The sounds are awful and seem to equate to neither Sibelius 7 nor Garritan 4 sounds. The Sibelius mixer fails to show the instrument names for existing scores. When I open Sibelius 7 there is always a small window showing " Audio Engine error: bad settings." I believe I have the latest version of Aria player and as far as I know my computer guy activated the Garritan library. I have tried to follow the steps outlined in a Make Music help center article on the subject last updated on Sep 2 2016 but to no avail.

Can anyone help please?

PS While I can operate Sibelius 7 with no problems I am not technically minded. I should add that I do not compose via a midi keyboard but use my computer keypad.
