I'm using an oblique font for chord symbols in a project - both for the chord and the suffix/alteration. The sharp or flat is too close to the chord letter name.

I've gotten around this by creating a custom suffix that manually adjusts the spacing of the sharp or flat. But this doesn't work for something like D/F#, because I can't add a "suffix" to the bass note of a chord inversion.

Is there another workaround?

Thanks!

The workaround that comes to mind for your D/F# example, is to create that using a suffix.

"D" as the chord and "/F#" as the suffix. You'll have to create several suffixes for if you also need , /C#, or /Bb, etc...

The suffix won't be reflected in playback, but it should look right on paper.
