On some files, when I enter two eighth notes (6/8 time), they automatically link together.  In a couple of my files, however, the eighth notes don't link up.  I must have done something different, but I can't figure out how to link them together, except by copying and pasting from a file that DOES do the linking.  Any ideas?

Mac OS 10.13.5; Finale, v. 25.5.0.259

It depends how you define 6/8 in the time signature panel.
